New Doncaster Headquarters

Leaner & meaner Operations!!

Founded in 1941 by Albert Warner, Warner Fish Merchants has grown from a wet fish and fruit business with stalls at Doncaster and Rotherham Markets, a change in direction in 1972 saw the business become a wholesale distributor a supplier to fish and chip shops across England.

The company was based at Pipering Lane West, Scawthorpe on the edge of Doncaster with smaller sites in other areas.

The acquisition of a site on Decoy Bank covering 13,000 sq ft, has enabled the company to invest in new offices, a state of the art cold storage unit embracing new technology, this in turn has enabled the smaller sites to come together under one roof, the company will benefit from closer control of resources as well as lower costs for warehousing and other support services as WFM experiences increasing demand from a growing customer base.

Warners Fish Merchants Managing Director Gary Warner said:

"This is the culmination of a lot of hard work all across the business. We are continuing to see strong demand for our services based on our high quality and competitive nature. We are where we are because businesses can rely on us to deliver and we do not want anything to compromise that, which is why we have taken the decision to invest in growing our business."

The Decoy Bank facility will become a centre of distribution for fish and chip shops all over the UK and Ireland and even Australia.

Today, the company employs 23 and runs a fleet of specialised vans across the country, over the next five years we hope to expand our workforce and increase production by over 700 tonnes.

We have now moved into our offices you can track our progress below.
